WHAT
Come and join Olivia Gibson from Stay Wild for a relaxed crochet workshop where you’ll have the opportunity to make a chunky handmade bag.
This session is beginner-friendly, as long as you can crochet a basic single crochet square; that’s all the skills you will need. This isn’t a learn-to-crochet-from-scratch class (sorry!), we’ll be building on the basic skills and turning them into a bold, practical bag you’ll actually use.
All materials are provided and you’ll leave with your own chunky bag and the confidence to make another. Two cosy, creative hours at The Cluster. Come and make something with your hands!

WHO
Olivia Gibson is based in Abingdon and crochet has been part of her life since she was little, when she was taught by her great-nan. She was amazing, she didn’t follow patterns; she created her own. Quietly, confidently, just making things the way she believed they should be made.
Olivia didn’t realise how much that had shaped her until years later, when her nan once asked for the pattern she’d used to make a bag. She told her, she hadn’t used one, she had just made it up! Her great-nan smiled and said, “You’re just like Nanny Pop.”
That moment stayed with Olivia. Her great-nan passed away before she could see what Olivia built with the skills she gave her. It was never just about crochet. It was about trusting her ideas, creating her own way and backing herself. She loves making bags as that’s where Stay Wild truly began. Practical, throw-everything-in, take-them-everywhere bags. Designed by instinct. Made by hand.
Stay Wild is her passion project. Every stitch carries a little piece of her great-nan.

WHERE AND HOW TO GET HERE
The Cluster, 3-5 Middle Way, OX2 7LH (the best co-working space in the universe, says us!) It will take place indoors at The Cluster co-working space. There are regular buses from Oxford City Centre to Summertown. There are some three-hour parking spaces along Middle Way but these are subject to availability. There is Summertown car park opposite Oakthorpe Road.
BUS
You can reach Summertown by bus from the city centre.
2A, 2, 800, S4 gold, S5 gold from Magdalen Street to South Parade East.
S1 from George Street to South Parade West.
CAR
There are some three-hour parking spaces along Middle Way, subject to availability. Additional car parking spaces can be found at Summertown Car Park, behind M&S. From here it takes about 8 min by foot to reach The Cluster.
PRICE & BOOKING
Tickets are £48 each (plus booking fees*) with a maximum of 8 participants per session. All materials will be provided. There are no specific clothing requirements.
*Eventbrite booking fees apply, we can’t avoid them, sorry.
OTHER IMPORTANT STUFF
In terms of crocheting ability, this workshop is aimed at people who have picked up a hook and yarn before, as long as you can crochet a simple square in single crochet, you’re good to go.

Meet the creator of Stay Wild Design, Olivia Gibson
Olivia “Liv” Gibson is a small business owner and the founder of SOMA Collab, a marketing services company. Alongside her work in marketing, Liv is the maker behind Stay Wild, a passion project inspired by learning to crochet as a child from her great-nan, who never followed pattern, she created her own.
That lesson stuck. What began with crochet grew into a mindset: trust your ideas, create your own way and back yourself. Come and learn the same lessons that Liv learnt from her great-nan at The Cluster.
