All of this paired with delicious caffeine and snack action from our café dream team The Meet Point Coffee, Summertown.

WHO
The Cluster and the brilliant ArtOxford are teaming up to bring you this event. ArtOxford is a small but mighty local business run by artist-teacher Helen J. S. Edwards has been shaping artistic minds for over 20 years. ArtOxford offers everything from life drawing & portrait classes to private tuition including GCSE, A-Level, Arts Awards, Scholarships, etc, and full on creative workshops for grownups who still like getting messy or want to develop their practice. Basically: they know their stuff.

It will take place outdoors in our lovely enclosed yard at The Cluster co-working space, 3-5 Middle Way, Summertown, Oxford. There are regular buses from Oxford city centre to Summertown. There is Summertown car park opposite Oakthorpe Road.

Good art (and good coffee) should be for everyone – even if your wallet’s currently doing a sad little tap dance. Entry’s free, so just bring your ears, your eyes, and your excellent taste. While you’re here, grab a coffee and something delicious from The Meet Point Coffee, and leave with a brilliant piece of original art by a local legend. Go on, be that person who says, “Oh this? Just picked it up at a cool little event.”

Helen J. S. Edwards
Helen studied a BA Fine Art & later completed an MA in Artist-Teacher Practice (ATP) at Oxford Brookes University. She has a PGCE in Secondary Art & with over 25 years of experience, has taught in Nursery, Primary, & Secondary schools, as well as a private tutor for children & adults. Helen specialises in drawing and printmaking and her artwork focuses on a fusion between Eastern & Western cultures, water & communication, influenced by her transient childhood. Helen exhibits during Artweeks and in and around Oxford.
Charlotte Bezant
Charlotte is an Oxfordshire-based portrait and wildlife artist. Growing up on a farm in Kent, she developed a love for nature and art early on, later earning a BA (Hons) and MA in Art and Design from Loughborough University. After running a pop-up gallery in Brighton, she found her passion for expressive portraiture, working mainly with acrylics and paint pens to capture bold, textured pieces. Alongside private commissions and book illustrations, Charlotte continues to find inspiration in the unique personalities of both people and animals.
Jacqueline Abel
A quiet and sensitive child (with a stubborn streak, according to her mum), she was drawn to beauty in all its forms and spent hours alone in nature, sketching and observing. Jacqueline studied fashion and design before being encouraged to pursue art full time, training at Shelley Park Art College and later completing a Fine Art Painting degree at Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Art. She now works from her studio in Abingdon, creating paintings and drawings across a range of subjects, and has exhibited in national shows including The Discerning Eye, The Sunday Times Watercolour Exhibition, The Threadneedle Prize, and the Royal Society of British Artists.
Rachel Hutchinson
Rachel studied 3D Design and was awarded a BA(Hons) and MA in Furniture Design. She gained experience in leading furniture workshops and established Rachel Hutchinson Furniture in 1995 working speculatively to explore innovative and artistic ideas. Her work has been exhibited widely including Bonhams, Chelsea Crafts Fair and 100% Design. She is currently Head of Design Technology at Chandlings Independent School and lecturer on the BA Furniture Design and Make at Rycotewood in Oxford.
Izzie Martin
Izzie Martin is a mixed media artist whose current body of work is inspired by the bold, expressive style of John Piper. This year, she has focused her creative energy on developing her own interpretation of Piper’s approach, exploring the architectural beauty of churches, abbeys, ruins, and cathedrals. Fascinated by the character and presence of these historic buildings, Izzie’s work captures the texture, mood, and atmosphere of each site. She is also enjoying working on floral and seascape paintings, which reflect her continued love of colour, nature, and expressive mark-making.
