The Big Pot Swap at The Cluster
with special guest speaker
Price: £5
Price: £5
Ever found yourself staring at a plant, pot in hand, realising that it’s either way too big, way too small, or catastrophically the wrong colour?
Yeah, us too!
Pots are like socks. They disappear, shrink, multiply, and somehow never match up with what you actually need. And if we can swap clothes on Vinted when we grow (or just fancy a new look), why can’t we swap pots when our plants do the same?
Enter The Big Pot Swap – a joyful afternoon where you can bring your spare pots, plants, seeds, or cuttings and trade them with other Cluster folk. It’s the sustainable, budget-friendly, community-spirited way to freshen up your plant collection without buying even more random pots that will one day taunt you from the back of a cupboard.
The Big Pot Swap is for anyone in The Cluster community who’s ever battled with a mismatched pot, overgrown plant, or a cupboard full of garden gear they swear they’ll use one day. Whether you’re a seasoned plant parent, a curious newbie, or just in it for the vibes, this is your space. No green thumb required, just bring your spare bits (pots, plants, seeds, or cuttings) and a willingness to trade, chat, and connect. It’s all about shared love for green things and keeping it low-key, low-waste, and full of good energy.
We’ll even have a very special guest speaker (to be announced) – someone who really knows their Monstera deliciosa from their Chlorophytum comosum (we hated Latin at school!) Expect wisdom, laughs, and some top-tier tips on how not to accidentally commit herbicide on your new plant babies.
Saturday 28th June
11am to 4pm
The Cluster, 3-5 Middle Way, OX2 7LH
The event will be held outside in our lovely enclosed courtyard, complete with gazebos, cosy blankets, and the warming delights of The Meet Point Coffee, our resident café magicians, ready to serve up hot drinks or cold to keep your hands (and soul) toasty or cool. There are regular buses from Oxford city centre to Summertown. There is Summertown car park opposite Oakthorpe Road.
Entry is a £5 donation with part of the proceeds going to Dementia UK, our chosen charity at The Cluster – a cause close to our hearts.
Booking is so 1994 so just come along, pay your donation of £5, bring a pot, take a pot, meet some new people, and leave a little greener than you came (and don’t worry – no one will judge if you go home with more than you brought. It’s practically tradition.)
